COVID-19 Prevention & Control Strategy by OLMRTS

With the widespread devastating effects of COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, OLMRTS developed its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Plans, in the light of WHO & Government of Pakistan approved guidelines, and implemented them on all of its sites & offices at all levels.

A number of actions were undertaken by OLMRTS management for the prevention & control of COVID-19 pandemic and for the well-being of its employees, which includes but are not limited to:

  • Rigorous COVID-19 PCR testing were performed for all current & newly hired employees. It is now an established practice at OLMRTS that all the newly joining employees shall undergo the COVID-19 PCR testing.
  • OLMRTS management instructed all of its employees to work from home during peak of the pandemic in Pakistan. Similarly, online trainings were conducted in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 Virus. Digital video conferencing & collaboration tools such as Zoom and WeChat were implemented for effective working.
  • OLMRTS distributes COVID-19 PPEs such as Face Masks, Hand sanitizers & Gloves to all of its employees on monthly basis.
  • Before resumption of work at OLMRTS Offices, deep disinfection of all the buildings was carried out and is now performed twice on daily basis as the work at OLMRTS Offices has resumed.
  • Daily temperature monitoring of all the employees/visitors/third party contractors is performed throughout OLMRTS sites including office buildings and stations.
  • In order to fulfill the requirements of staff’s on-job trainings before the initiation of commercial operations, OLMRTS tested and isolated almost 200 of its employees. The employees were retested after completing isolation of two weeks and later joined the on-job training sessions as per their schedule. 100% compliance of isolation protocol is ensured by the staff in the training sessions.

By strictly adhering to the COVID-19 Prevention & Control SOPs and taking the above-mentioned actions, OLMRTS has ZERO number of infections presently.
